Whether you call it a Valve Guard, a Valve Protector, a Valve Cover, or a Valve Spray Shield, the staff at Drake Specialties guarantees a precise fit of your valve shield. In fact, Drake Specialties maintains a large library of valve specifications, literature, and catalogs from nearly every manufacturer, just so we can better understand your particular piping and valve design.
Valves are a vital component of most piping systems, and need to be included in the safety program. Whether it starts as a small drip, a steady leak, or a sudden high pressure spray, our Valve Shields will protect personnel, equipment, and the environment.
Gate and globe valves contain 2 flanges, along with an upper section called a bonnet, which contains seals and provides travel for the valve stem. Our Valve Bonnet Shields are conical in shape, and cover the bonnet up to the hand-wheel. For complete globe and gate valve protection, 3 pieces total are required: 2 flange shields and 1 valve bonnet shield.
Safety relief valves and rupture discs are pressure relieving devices. Drake Specialties makes covers for the ends of vent pipes, or vent stacks, connected to these critical devices. Sometimes called SRV Covers, or Relief Covers, our Pipe End Covers provide protection necessary to keep the internals working properly.
All Valve Shields are available in the same fabrics and styles as Flange Shields. Teflon Valve Shields are the most popular style, however, we do offer them in metal; visit our Stainless Valve Shield page for more details.
